We have been busy tidying up the meadow during the winter. The photo on the left shows the copse at the western boundary, where the orchard is being planted. We have cleared a few of the weaker trees, as well as a lot of the scrubby blackthorn bushes, which were trying to take over. Most of the trees have been transferred into the meadow.
The photo on the right shows the new trees which were planted in November 2024, and the plaques which were put into place in February 2025. The nest box in the mid-background has been attracting attention again from the kestrels. No sign of any barn owl this year!
